Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 4 strips of bacon
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
As directed on the package, pop the popcorn kernels and reserve in a big bowl
Cook the bacon until crispy in a skillet
After removing and crumbling the bacon strips, set them aside
Melt the butter over low heat in the same skillet that contains the bacon drippings
Add the salt, chipotle powder, and brown sugar; cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbly and smooth
Cover the popcorn with a layer of melted chipotle caramel sauce and bacon
Mix everything until the popcorn has an even layer of sauce and bacon crumbs
After spreading the popcorn mixture onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, allow it to cool for a short while
Add the chocolate chips to the popcorn while its still warm
Let the chocolate cool slightly, then evenly distribute the melted chocolate throughout the popcorn by gently tossing it with a spatula
Allow the popcorn to cool fully so that the chocolate solidifies
